Fiber Artist & Instructor

Nature and curiosity inspire my work — from stitching and felting to botanical printing, natural dyeing, indigo, and shibori. Everything I make is handmade with natural fibers, such as wool, silk, linen, and cotton, as well as plant-based dyes, organic indigo, and local leaves and blossoms. With hands-on learning from artists celebrated in their fields, I blend these time-honored techniques into my own art-making and offer classes and workshops to anyone who is curious to learn.

Working with Natural Dyes, Textiles, & Fabrics

Natural approaches to creativity and art-making are woven into the pieces I make. I work with elements of nature — turning wool fibers into felted objects, dyeing fabrics with indigo and other natural plant dyes, creating botanical prints on fabric, and sewing them into garments and accessories. The fabrics I’ve prepared become clothing, wall hangings, fiber sculptures, multimedia works, and home decor.

Leftover scraps from the above activities provide material for collage, stitching projects, and mixed-media sculpture. Paper scraps become pulp for homemade paper which are made into botanical prints— journals, wallhangings, and greeting cards.

My work can be found in shops in the Twin Cities and nearby communities, on Etsy, and Instagram. Those interested can also reach out to buy directly from me.
